Description of initiative
Tutoring was founded with TRIO in 1994 and was removed from TRIO/CeO in 2014 to expand to DDEEA programs (CeO, PEOPLE, POSSE, First Wave). Later in 2014 Pathways was added to the group as a pilot service. In the Fall of 2015 Power Knapps, and Chancellors Scholars was added to the group and the Academic Support Services was established ; Africa Lozano, Mollyjo Bautch, Nyesha Brown were first Cohort with DDEEA student interns; Robin Murphy, Africa Lozano, Jose Torres were first cohort that transitioned from tutoring in TRIO/CeO to DDEEA. In Fall of 2016, Badger Beginnings was another program that was added to the Division of Diversity, Equity and Educational Achievement and provided services to students. By Fall of 2016, Academic Support Services was providing support to students in 7 programs ( CeO, PEOPLE, POSSE, FIRST WAVE, POWER KNAPPS, CHANCELLORS SCHOLARS, BADGER BEGINNINGS).
